PRIVATE CLIENT LAWYER/SOLICITOR – HEAD OF PRIVATE CLIENT

Due to continued business success and growth at GloverPriest Solicitors we are currently recruiting a senior solicitor to take over the role of Head of Private Client, managing our established Private Client team who work across our portfolio of 8 offices. The ideal candidate will preferably have experience setting and realising departmental targets, managing a team and planning strategically for growth in alignment with the business goals of the company. who can really hit the ground running joining an already busy team. The role will be based in one of 8 busy offices, there couldn't be a better time to join us.
The Ideal Private Client Lawyer/Solicitor – Head of Private Client will possess:
- Solicitor qualification or FILEx with 5+ years PQE in Private Client work
- Experience in all aspects of Private Client Law - including wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, probate and contentious probate, inheritance tax and estate planning. Ability to carry out case work accurately without supervision
- Excellent communication and personal skills
- A network of existing contacts
- Ability to build the client base and help market the company’s wider services
- Leadership and management experience, able to work within and manage a team
- Self motivated and clear thinking
Expectations of the successful Private Client Lawyer/Solicitor – Head of Private Client:-
- Management and leadership of all aspects regarding the Private Client team ensuring the department is working in accordance with the company’s business objectives
- Conduct matters on behalf of clients in Private Client Law and related matters
- Supervision of fee-earning work undertaken by junior members of the team
- Management of support services for the team
- Maintain orderly and up-to-date files including electronic files and complying with the companies’ policies on file management
- Financial control including managing cash flow for the team through efficient billing and payment procedures
- Recognising fee-earning opportunities and developing those opportunities
- Recognising and enabling business development opportunities
- Being innovative, recognising and developing opportunities for the department and managing organisationally when required with minimal disruption to the business
- Networking and participation in the companys marketing activities
- Compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and Code of Conduct and the Money Laundering Regulations in accordance with current guidance from the SRA and the company
- Identifying and meeting job related training and development targets
- Offer a creative and innovative approach to managing the growth and development of the department
