During the pandemic, I thought long and hard as to direction in which I wanted my career to be heading. I had been at my previous firm for 10 years and decided that it was time to explore new opportunities across the horizon.
I had 3 job offers and when I attended the interview at GP, within a short period, I knew this was the firm for me. I was ecstatic when I was offered the job because I knew from my interview this was a firm for individuals who are not merely looking for a job but aspire to forge out a successful career in law.
The support that I have received at GP has been excellent and unassuming. I work with an incredible team whom I see as my friends rather than colleagues. We all work together and help each other as and when required. This is a firm which believes in teamwork and takes particular note of individuals who are prepared to work outside their comfort zone.
Whilst at GP, I have gained vast amount of experience which has enhanced my legal knowledge. At times I have been faced with new and novel legal issues which were outside my particular area of expertise, but I have sought relevant information which has successfully resolved those issues which needed to be addressed. The family department has expanded from one fee earner to include five fee earners over the past two years. We also have several experienced support staff that provide valuable administrative support to the department. On the review solicitor’s website, we are ranked as number 1 family law solicitors in Birmingham. This is a phenomenal achievement within two years.
My journey at GP has been a breath of fresh air and exceeded my expectations. The owners of the firm take career development very seriously reward employees accordingly.
I love working at GP. Each day has its own challenges which I deal with in a prompt and efficient manner.
I have been working here for 18 months and have recently been promoted to Director. I am honoured and privileged to be given this opportunity and feel proud and blessed to be part of the GP family.
