"My career in family law has been built on a strong commitment to supporting clients through some of the most challenging periods of their lives."
My career in family law has been built on a strong commitment to supporting clients through some of the most challenging periods of their lives. Over the years, I have worked hard to develop both my legal expertise and my reputation within the profession. I am proud to have achieved The Law Society accreditation and to be a member of the Family Panel, which reflects the depth of my experience in family law.
Alongside my legal practice, I have always believed in the importance of building strong professional relationships. Networking has played a significant role in my career, allowing me to develop valuable connections within the business sector and the wider professional community. I am also passionate about giving back, and my pro bono work has been recognised by organisations such as Citizens Advice, Women’s Aid, and the Litigant in Person Scheme at Birmingham City University.
What Led Me to Make a Career Change?
During the pandemic, I spent a great deal of time reflecting on the direction I wanted my career to take. I had been with my previous firm for 10 years, and while it had been an important part of my professional journey, I felt the time had come to explore new opportunities and consider what the next chapter might look like.
I received three job offers during that period, but when I attended my interview at GloverPriest, I knew within a short space of time that this was the right firm for me. There was something about the culture, ambition, and vision of the firm that immediately stood out. I was genuinely thrilled when I was offered the role because I knew from that first meeting that this was a place for people who were not simply looking for a job, but who wanted to build a successful and fulfilling career in law.
What Has the Support at GloverPriest Been Like?
The support I have received at GloverPriest has been exceptional. It has never felt forced or formal; instead, it has been genuine, consistent, and always there when needed.
I work with an incredible team of people whom I genuinely see as friends as much as colleagues. There is a real sense of teamwork here, with everyone willing to support one another whenever required. What stands out to me is that the firm recognises and values individuals who are prepared to step outside their comfort zone and embrace new challenges.
How Has My Experience at GloverPriest Helped Me Grow?
Since joining GloverPriest, I have gained a vast amount of experience that has significantly enhanced my legal knowledge and professional confidence.
There have been times when I have encountered new and complex legal issues outside my immediate area of expertise, but I have always approached these challenges with determination, seeking out the relevant information and guidance needed to achieve successful outcomes for clients. This has strengthened my legal practice and broadened my experience considerably.
One of the achievements I am particularly proud of is the growth of our family department. Over the past two years, we have expanded from one fee earner to a team of five fee earners, supported by experienced administrative staff who play a vital role in the department’s success. To see that growth and development has been incredibly rewarding. Being ranked as the number one family law solicitors in Birmingham on the Review Solicitors website was a phenomenal achievement for the team and something we are all immensely proud of.
What Makes GloverPriest Different as a Place to Work?
My journey at GloverPriest has been a breath of fresh air and has exceeded my expectations in many ways.
What stands out to me most is that the leadership of the firm takes career development seriously. There is a genuine investment in people, and employees are recognised and rewarded for their hard work and commitment. This creates an environment where individuals feel motivated to grow and achieve their full potential.
What Do I Enjoy Most About Working Here?
I genuinely love working at GloverPriest. Every day brings its own challenges, and that is something I enjoy. Family law is a demanding and dynamic area of practice, but I take pride in dealing with each challenge in a prompt, efficient, and practical way.
After 18 months with the firm, I was recently promoted to Director. I feel incredibly honoured and privileged to have been given this opportunity. It is a milestone that means a great deal to me, and I feel genuinely proud and grateful to be part of the GloverPriest family.
