Life as a Trainee Solicitor
Life as a trainee solicitor at GloverPriest Solicitors is varied, fast-paced and rewarding. From day one, our trainees are entrusted with meaningful, hands-on legal work, treated as 'fee earners' supporting real clients on real matters. Depending on the department, trainees may manage their own caseload under supervision, taking responsibility for files and acting as a key point of contact for clients.
To help you settle into your role, we provide a comprehensive induction programme, along with ongoing training and development opportunities. This ensures you build the practical skills, confidence and legal expertise needed to thrive as a future solicitor.
Supervision
Support and supervision are an integral part of life at GloverPriest Solicitors. Guidance is available whenever needed, and regular meetings provide dedicated time to discuss work, seek advice, and reflect on challenges away from the demands of day-to-day practice.
In addition to ongoing supervision from experienced solicitors, we have a dedicated in-house trainer who is both a qualified solicitor and a former teacher. Their unique combination of legal expertise and educational experience provides trainees with tailored support, practical guidance, and structured development throughout their training contract.
All staff, including trainees, meet with their supervisor on a quarterly basis to review performance, recognise achievements, and identify opportunities for further development. Training contract progress is formally assessed every six months, typically in line with a seat rotation.
While the role is busy and challenging, trainees benefit from high-quality work, meaningful responsibility, and comprehensive training, enabling them to develop the skills, confidence, and expertise needed to fulfil their potential as solicitors.
